Impact 100 Redwood Circle, a Sonoma County women’s giving circle hosted by the Community Foundation of Sonoma County, empowers and enables local women to serve as philanthropic leaders by collectively funding significant grants that will make a lasting impact in our community.
Impact 100 Redwood Circle is comprised of 100 or more women, each of whom makes an annual donation of $1000. The group assesses critical needs in our community, reviews grant requests for financial support, and awards one “Impact Grant” of $100,000 each year, as well as additional smaller grants as funding allows.
Today, the group has more than 150 members and has held over a half dozen education workshops, meetings and socials to support the grant giving cycle. We awarded the first grant in the spring of 2016. Small community grants will be awarded in December of 2016 and our second grant will be awarded in May of 2017.
The Founding of Impact100 Redwood Circle
Melissa Kelley and Deirdre Holbrook founded Impact100 Redwood Circle in November 2014. A kick-off reception was held in June when the group was only comprised of 20 members. By May of 2016 when we awarded our first grant, we reached a milestone of 143 Founding Members.
