Update on Grant Process and Other Business During Shelter In Place Order

Dear Impact 100 RC Members,

As we continue to Shelter in Place, we hope this message finds you and your loved ones healthy and safe. Impact 100 RC is a philanthropic giving circle, but it is also a community of women. Please let us know if you need anything from your leadership or your fellow members. We’re all in this together.

We are living with a high level of uncertainty about how long we will be sheltering in place and when we can hope to see the virus recede.  However, the management team remain undeterred and has a plan that will move Impact 100 forward through April, focusing on getting our grant monies to work in Sonoma County as quickly as possible.

  • This year our Community Grants Committee (responsible for our $10,000 grants) will be awarding eight $10,000 grants for a total of $80,000. The Committee has completed extensive review and evaluation of the applications from Sonoma County non-profits. You will receive an email ballot in just a couple of days asking you to vote for your favorite proposals … keep an eye out for that. We hope to have grant money in the hands of the “winning” non-profits by early May.

  • The Impact Grant Committee (responsible for our $100,000 Impact Grant) kicks off their 2020 work in May with a request for nominations from our members. This year in particular, the Committee recognizes the need to be responsive to the ever-changing situation in our community.  We are dedicated to making the best decisions about selection of our local non-profit service organizations as the short and long-term effects of this crisis continues to unfold.

  • A Task Force has reviewed the processes and policies for grant-making in light of growth to over 200 members and previewed their recommendations in a teleconference on March 26th. For those of you unable to attend, the narrated slides will be posted on our website by Friday. We welcome your questions and comments. Send to Impact100impactgranta@gmail.com

  • Administration of Impact 100 RC will continue via virtual committee meetings and other business via Zoom but there are no concrete plans to hold other virtual Zoom group events, such as new member orientation, cocktails & conversation, etc., until the shelter in place order is lifted, but we’re all ears on suggestions on how to satisfy the communication and networking needs of our members for the duration. Please send suggestions to impact100president@gmail.com

Our support is needed now more than ever. We are firmly committed to ensuring our community’s needs are well met by our work. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have questions, feedback, or suggestions.

    Jan and Suzy, and everyone,
This has been a joy to work on the Community Grants Committee. I am not worried about the groups that I have selected that are not being chosen. I have learned about some amazing nonprofit groups that Sam & I will add to our on own list of grant recipients. I’m so please to have served on this committee, because our work could be done online. Other committees had to cancel their work during this shelter in place time. Thank you for welcoming me into your work.
    Holding you in The Light,
    Betz Miller
