Laurie has been involved in Impact 100 for the past 5 years, serving as Secretary, and a member of both the Community Grant and the Impact Grant committees and will now co-chair the Membership Committee.
Laurie and her husband Tom moved to Santa Rosa 26 years ago from Ann Arbor, Michigan. After receiving her Masters of Social Work from the University of Michigan, Laurie immediately started a career as a Dementia Specialist.
For the past 37 years, Laurie has immersed herself in educating and supporting family and professional caregivers, and co-authored 3 books on the subject. The highlight of her career was developing and facilitating support groups for people with dementia for 20 years.
In addition to volunteering in professional organizations, Laurie has been a long-time volunteer for Catholic Charities’ Caring Voices program, and has joined the 2023 Roseland University Prep Fundraising Committee.
Laurie’s hobbies include making quilts for her home or to donate to the homeless. When she is not in her ‘quoffice’ (quilting room and office), she can be found tending to their flower and vegetable gardens.
