Sarah retired in 2016 from a career in higher education and corporate training. She taught management courses in the School of Business and Economics at Sonoma State University for twenty years. In her last years there, she founded the Career Center, which strengthened the town-gown relationship and job placement success through the Internship, Mentor, and Corporate Partnership Programs.
Sarah currently volunteers at F.I.S.H. Food Pantry, Ceres Community Project, Sonoma Literacy League, and the SSU Green Music Center. She often travels to visit her three children and two grandchildren. Sarah enjoys hiking, swimming, reading, and international travel.
